Courses

Courses (Kursy) shows the cover thumbnail, the title with its category underneath, the language where the site speaks more than one, a status badge, the number of lessons and the publication date, most recently changed first. Search by title; filter by status, language, category or trashed courses. Each row offers Preview (Podgląd), which opens the public course page in a new tab even for a draft, and Edit (Edytuj).

The page has two columns of form and a sidebar.

  • Title (Tytuł) — required.
  • Slug (Adres) — the address of the course on the site, generated from the title when you leave it empty. Once saved it does not follow a title change, so a shared link keeps working.
  • Summary (Skrót) — the short text on the catalogue card and under the title on the course page. A sparkles icon beside the label writes one for you (see AI assistants).
  • Language (Język) — the language the lessons are written in. It decides which language’s addresses the course is found under, tells a browser and a screen reader how to read the page, and is the language the assistants write in. The field is locked once the course has translations; see Languages.
  • Description (Opis) — the long rich text on the course page. It has a sparkles icon of its own.

At the top, Save changes (Zapisz), Cancel (Anuluj) and Preview (Podgląd), which opens the course on the site.

Then Publishing (Publikacja):

  • Status: Draft (Szkic), Published (Opublikowany) or Archived (Zarchiwizowany).
  • Access (Dostęp): Free (Darmowy) or Paid (Płatny). Only a free course can be joined by a student on their own.
  • Purchase URL (Adres zakupu) — appears when the access is paid. It is the shop page where access to this course is sold; the course page turns it into a Buy access button. Leave it empty and the page says instead that access is granted individually. HiLMS never takes money itself.
  • Published at (Data publikacji) — required when the status is Published. A future date schedules the course: it appears by itself at that moment, to the minute. The field says which clock it is in beside its label, which is your own if you set one and the site’s otherwise (The panel), so the hour you type is the hour you mean.
  • Category (Kategoria).
  • Instructors (Prowadzący) — only people with the instructor role are offered. Their photo and profile fields become the person cards on the course page.
  • Tags (Tagi) — type and press Enter.
  • Cover (Okładka) — a picture from the media library. Choose from the library (Wybierz z biblioteki) offers the library’s public pictures only, because a course cover is seen by anybody browsing the catalogue; Upload new (Prześlij nowy) beside the label uploads a JPEG, PNG or WebP (or fetches one from a web address), puts it in the library as a public file and chooses it; Clear (Wyczyść) takes the cover off. The catalogue card and the course page use sizes made for you. See The media library.

Then Translations (Tłumaczenia): the same course in the other languages, as links, with Add a translation (Dodaj tłumaczenie) to write it again in one of them. That copies everything — sections, lessons, blocks, instructors, tags, the cover — as a draft; the copy shows the same library files as the original, so nothing is uploaded twice. See Languages.

At the very bottom: Delete (Usuń), and for a deleted course force delete and restore.

Two tables on the edit page:

  • Sections (Sekcje) — the curriculum, described in Sections and lessons.
  • Students (Kursanci) — everybody with a seat on this course, with their progress, and a Grant access (Przyznaj dostęp) button. See Students and access.

A course is public when its status is Published and its publication date has passed.

  • Editors and administrators can open any course’s public page at any time, and see a notice that it is not published yet.
  • An instructor can open the courses they are named on, and no others.
  • Archived courses are hidden from the catalogue like drafts, but students who already have access keep it. That is what the status is for.

Delete (Usuń) moves the course to the trash. Find it again with the Trashed filter on the list, then Restore (Przywróć). Only an administrator may delete a course permanently (Usuń trwale), and only a course nobody was ever granted: permanently deleting one would take every student’s access, progress and quiz score with it, and the reference a shop sold it under. Such a course stays in the trash, where it hides from the catalogue for good, and the permanent delete is not offered on it; when you select several courses for it at once, the rest go and the panel tells you how many stayed. Deleting permanently removes the course with all its sections and lessons. The files they showed stay in the media library, no longer used by this course, and can be deleted there.
